Brewing whole bean coffee starts with grinding your dark roast beans just before brewing to preserve freshness, aroma, and flavor. Use a burr grinder for the most consistent grind, adjusting the coarseness to match your brew method; coarse for French press, medium for drip, and fine for espresso. Measure about 1–2 tablespoons of freshly ground coffee per 6 ounces of water, and heat water to 195–205°F. Brewing with freshly ground beans unlocks richer flavor, brighter notes, and a more aromatic cup that showcases the coffee at its best.

    Excellent for Espresso

    I was curious about grinding Crockett coffee for espresso, but I'm glad I tried it out. It's dark, rich, with tasting notes close to molasses.

    It is a very good "Pure Dark Roast". In other words, it lacks a lot of the dirt aftertaste that crema usually has, and it's not overly burnt. Personally, I find a lot of DARK ROASTS to taste rather similar, especially when made into espresso, but they either have the tree bark flavor or taste too much like a campfire, so it's always a pleasant surprise finding a roastery that makes it right.

    High quality and flavor dark roasted coffee.

    This dark roast coffee is highly aromatic and has a deep flavor that is ultra satisfying at 4am. Im usually only drinking coffee in the am these days but on occasion I will brew a few cups in the evening or afternoon. I prefer the whole bean because it seems to me that you get a better experience of the roast if the beans are ground right before brewing. It may also be that I love the smell of the dark roast being ground first thing in the morning in preparation for that first cup of the day. I love the opportunity to shop the parallel conservative, patriotic and freedom loving economy as well. Thanks again for the hard work and great tasting coffee that is now a part of my every day.

    I personally like the dark roast, great to start off your day! It reminds me of “BLACK COFFEE” a song performed by Humble Pie! You guys have to hear this one! Only downer is that it was written by Ike Turner!
